Information we collect
Automatically, when you visit. Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, the site that referred you, and timestamps. We use this to keep the site running and to see which recipes people actually read.
When you contact us. Whatever you put in the form or email: your name, email address, and your message. We keep it only as long as we need it to reply.
When you comment. Your name, email address, and the comment itself.
We never ask for or store payment information.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. This site uses them to remember display preferences and, on recipe pages, which ingredients you have checked off so they are still crossed out when you come back.
Third parties also set cookies here:
- Google AdSense — serves the advertising on this site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop the recipes working, but your ingredient checkmarks will not be saved.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense.
Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting https://www.google.com/settings/ads
You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies by visiting https://www.aboutads.info
Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve advertisements on this site and use their own cookies. We do not control those cookies, and their own privacy policies govern how they use your information.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and understand which recipes are popular. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individual readers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the information we hold about you.
If you are in the EU or UK (GDPR): you can ask for access to your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, ask for a copy in a portable format, or object to a particular use.
If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you can ask what personal information we collect, ask us to delete it, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these, email hello@twintastes.com. We respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep things
- Comments and their metadata: kept indefinitely, so follow-up replies can be recognised automatically.
- Contact messages: 12 months, then deleted.
- Server logs: 90 days.
Security
The whole site runs over HTTPS and we keep our software updated. No method of transmitting data over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Links to other sites
Recipes sometimes link out to other websites. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information — read their policies before sharing anything with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page. When we make a material change, we update the date at the top.
